Minutes of Climate Café 27/08/2023

Suzy has been to Forest Row Parish Council meetings and reports that a Green councillor is interested in a People’s Assembly addressing sustainable housing.

Concern was noted about the use of herbicide in Ashdown Forest to control bracken.

Humanity Project (HP) – a national pop will be held in Manchester in November. Attendance will be by sortition. 15/10/2023 is the deadline to feed in.

Having local pops would be very desirable. An HP toolkit is available to help set this up.

Pops should be no-agenda, sensitive to local sentiments. Likely topics:
Waste, commercial and litter in the village.
Food wrapping
Personal responsibility for consumption
Use of the Rydon building
Hartfield Road site

HP is clear that local democracy should be uplifted to deal with issues that matter to people.
